Jan Celebrates 60th Birthday

We celebrated Jan's 60th birthday Sunday afternoon at John & Sharon's.  Julie, Danny, Jan, and Bill met at John & Sharon's and had a great evening celebrating Jan's advance into a new decade of her life.

James & Gretchen, we missed you and are looking forward to your visit over the Thanksgiving holidays.

The birthday celebration was upstaged by the new addition to John & Sharon's family -- Clyde.

Jack is getting up in years, so John recently suggested that they find an understudy Jack could train in his own mold.  Sharon -- not being one to let grass grow under her feet -- had the family out dog shopping the afternoon of Grandma Jan's party.

Clyde is a Jack Russell/Beagle mix, but uncharacteristic of the breeds is as laid back as Pop-Pop (maybe more).  He was the center of attention for the evening and was immediately comfortable with being dragged from lap to lap.  I think don't think Jack will have to do much to break him into family ways.    Probably a good thing, as Jack ignored the new arrival and left Sharon a "thank-you" prize in the corner.

... and no, the puppy wasn't in Grandma Jan's purse when we left.
