Mom & I spent the afternoon at Il Buon Vento (Tony & Diane DeMaria's home and vineyard in Forsyth County, GA) playing at being field hands for Tony. He needed help trimming excess flowers from his grape vines, and in a weak moment we volunteered. Had nothing to do with the free wine & food, honest. ... and nothing with cotton either, but it was a good lead-in.
We
took a break mid-afternoon when the Tour de Georgia passed the vineyard. By that
time Bill & Kline Reed (Bill is another KSA retiree and a close friend) had
joined the group, as had Tony & Diane's son Tony and his girlfriend (and the
five kids from their two families).
Lance
Armstrong was in 5th or 5th place going into today's competition, and was in the
lead group as he passed us. Unfortunately, the bikes went by so fast that
we didn't have much time to look -- or take good pictures. ... but
the wine and company were good. ... there is no connection between
the good wine and the fuzzy picture. :-)
