Here is a mix of photos taken with the grandkids during September. To date, photos are from play time with Oliver (Sunday, 9/1) play time with Andrew (Thursday, 9/5), Chace's cross country meet (Saturday, 9/7), and a visit to Peachtree DeKalb Airport with Ian (Monday, 9/9)
Pictures from our play day with Oliver on 9/1. This shot reminds me of one of John at about this age.
Wish we had put an odometer on the stroller. Oliver pushed it a long way.
Oliver entertained us by taking us on a walk to the U-Joint.
Scout showing off for Jesse. Jesse seems unimpressed.
A shot from the hip. Sure wish it was centered.
When'll the popcorn be ready GrandMa?
Touchdown!! (or "finished" if you are into baby sign language).
These photos are from lunch date Andrew on 9/5. We ate at Jimmy John's in Decatur and then headed to Leaping Lizards to run off steam. Andrew burned off enough steam for the three of us.
In the words of Alfred E. Neuman, "What, me worry?"
I'm OK, GrandMa.
Next stop: Dairy Queen for a Blizzard. Wahoo.
Chace ran with the Parkview varsity cross country squad at the Wesleyan Invitational Meet on 9/7. It was hot and muggy, making for a difficult run. I thought he did he did very well but he had hoped for a better time. He earned the opportunity to run with the varsity squad with a good showing in Parkview's team time trials.
Chace's friend Payton (right, in orange uniform) ran in her first cross country event today at the Wesleyan Invitational. She ran with the Parkview women's junior varsity team.
The Parkview men's varsity team earned second place in the event. Their women's team finished in fifth place.
Good job Chace!!
The Super Hero Trio - Ian, Bill & Janet - visited Peachtree DeKalb Airport on September 9th. Ian had a week off from school and had enjoyed previous trips to PDK with his Mom and Dad. The airport playground is located adjacent to the runways so we were able to enjoy the playground while watching the steady flow of aircraft departing and arriving. Ian and I had a good discussion about which planes had retractible landing gear and how to tell the difference.
We enjoyed lunch at the Downwind Restaurant in the airport, which also overlooks the runways. Food was good, but the best part was dessert at the Frosty Caboose in Chamblee. Mmmm mmmm good. Following our theme of the day, Ian enjoyed the "Superman" ice cream flavor.
