James and Gretchen's extended family gathered in Decatur on August 11 to celebrate Oliver's Baptism and first birthday. It was an exhilarating day for Oliver ... and for all of us who participated. Congratulations to Oliver, and thanks to Gretchen and James for the wonderful celebration.
The Baptism ceremony took place at the Sunday morning service of the Church of the Epiphany in Decatur.
Oliver was Baptized by Father Benno Pattison, Rector of Church of the Epiphany. With Gretchen and James are Oliver's God parents: Sanchia Patrick, Bob Spatik, and Johnny Prugh.
The D'Huyvetter family ...
and the Cobb Family. Mom and I are so fortunate. Our children and their families are close by, and we are at a place in our lives where we are able to spend a lot of time enjoying them and the major events in their lives.

There are too many photos here. I could not delete many for fear of dropping out a detail that I'd miss later. I had the same issues with the photos of Andrew's first birthday party.
Oh boy! Can't wait to get my fingers into that!! I understand that Oliver -- your Mom caught me with my fingers in your cake after you finished! Andrew (left) is as excited about the cake as Oliver.
This boy can put away some cake!
