We’ve actually been quite busy, although you wouldn’t know it from our (lack of) posts here! I’m sure Jan has a plan to make me atone for my sins of omission, but while she was coming up with something I got busy and posted a few new photos to our Gallery.
Izabella
The Izabella album has a few new photos. The album’s photos are in chronological order so new ones are at the end.
Jan’s Friday afternoon duties (relieving Marge at ~2:00pm so she can beat the Friday afternoon traffic back to her Alpharetta home and Randy) give us an opportunity to regularly visit with Izzy, Marge, Julie, and Dan. We have enjoyed being able to stay close to Izzy’s rapid development and create good memories.
As an aside, we are so thankful for Marge’s willingness to take on the care of Izzy while Julie continues her career at Gables. I know it is difficult for Julie to leave the house each morning — Izzy is way too cute to leave — but the loving care that Marge gives Izzy makes all the difference in Julie’s being able to leave Izzy and return to work each day. Thank you Marge!!
Camping in South Carolina
We joined John and Sharon’s family at Oconee State Park for a weekend of camping over Labor Day weekend. It was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend with our favorite camp-mates. Thanks to John and Sharon for allowing us to share in their weekend! A highlight of the weekend was a repeat visit to Bull Sluice rapids on the Chattooga River. We visited there several years ago when we camped with John, Sharon, and Julie at Black Top Mountain and the rapids / swimming hole were a hit with all ages. This year’s visit to the rapids was equally enjoyable. You can share in our Bull Sluice activities through the photos in our “Camping in South Carolina” album.
Cross Country
This is Chace’s fourth year competing in cross country at the high school level. We have enjoyed three years of watching him grow his skills as a member of Parkview High School’s Cross Country team. This year we will get double grandparent points for each meet we attend as Abby has joined Chace on the team. They spent the summer getting in shape for the season, and their race season opened in Duluth on August 23rd. Join us for a meet if you can; if not, enjoy it through our eyes and camera in our new “Cross Country” photo album. The meet schedule is available on the Parkview High School Running web page and results are available on the Georgia Track and Field web site.
